Tutorial Blog

I wanted to let people know that in between working on costumes I've been making some tutorials on costume making. I'll be making them over a broad range of subjects as I go, but atm I have 2 up that are meant for people who are very new to sewing and costume making.

If you don't have family or friends who sew it can be hard to get started, so I want to make tutorials that answer questions people have about the whole process and maybe encourage people to try out a new hobby.

The tutorials are here:

Check it out if you are interested. Feedback is welcome. Ideas on things you'd like to see would be best.

On an unrelated subject, my front page is telling me I've been here 6 years. That seems like a long time to me.

Damn maridah, your cosplay just gets better and better. :) Great job on all the recent and future ones you do. I look forward to seeing photos of them.

yea thanks, I desided not to have them make it after all it was going to cost me over $800 for it. its just so hard to find some one to pay for it, how much did you spend to make yours if you dont mind me asking?

thanks

I can't really say exactly how much it ended up costing because I tend to buy stuff as I need it when I'm making something and don't do a total in the end.
The shoulder armor alone cost me over $100 because I made it out of wonderflex, model putty, resin, and gesso. My shoes were something like $40, the wig was $50 or so, and all that fabric was probably $100+. Add in gloves, belt leather, ect...it was quite a lot. Granted this was over a year ago and my memory is terrible, so I'm having to guess on most of this, but it was probably around the 400-500 range in the end. D:<-- adding it up. It was the only thing I cosplayed that year, so I guess it could be worse.
